Q) What is included in the rent?
A) The rent is all inclusive of all your utility bills, this includes electricity and water. On site maintenance and 24 hour security is also included. Free Ensleigh insurance is also included in your rent. Internet connection is available in all bedrooms.
Q) What is in the apartments/rooms?
A) All apartments are fully furnished to a very high standard. Each open plan lounge/kitchen includes smart leather furniture, seating area, 2 cookers, fridge/freezer (2 fridge/freezers in 6 bed or more) microwave, 2 sinks, and vacuum cleaner.
The bedrooms have a fully fitted carpets, ¾ beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, large desk and chair, bedside cabinet, curtains, telephone socket and broadband connection.
The En-suite bathroom in every bedroom have a shower, wash basin, towel rail, mirror and WC.
In short a room in Teesside House is everything and more that you could wish for in student accommodation!
Q) How much will I pay?
A) The rents at Teesside House start at £72.50 for a standard room (All Inclusive)
Q) Where is Teesside House?
A) Teesside House is a stones throw from the university in the heart of Middlesbrough. You are ideally situated for your studies, shopping and a night out on the town!
Q) Can me and my friends book an apartment together?
A) Of course! The friendly staff at Campus Lifestyle will help you to choose your perfect apartment for the year ahead. You can come as part of a group or as an individual and we will endeavor to meet your needs in placing you in an apartment with students with similar needs
Q) How much deposit do I pay?
A) £100 reservation fee is required to book a room at Teesside House although the fee is not needed if a contract is signed after viewing your apartment.
Q) Does the building have lifts?
A) Yes there are two lifts within Teesside House
Q) Is parking available?
A) Unfortunately parking is not available at Teesside House although some parking is available to the street to the side and the university is just across the road!
Q) How long is the contract?
A) The contract is for 50 weeks
Q) Has Teesside House got bike storage?
A) Yes we have an area to store bikes securely
Q) Is cleaning including in the rent?
A) Unfortunately not, although for a small charge we do have a cleaning team on site to clean communal area’s and bedrooms if you and your flatmates so wish
Q) How is rent paid and on what dates?
A) Rent is paid by direct debit and is split between the three academic terms. All rent dates coincide with loan payment dates.
Q) Is it possible to re-book my accommodation for my second/third year?
A) That’s not a problem, many of our tenants are returning students who enjoy Teesside House so much that they re-book for the next year. Tenants will have first refusal to keep their own rooms for the next year.
Q) What happens if I have any maintenance issues?
A) We have a maintenance team on site to deal with any issues that may arise so that you are free not to worry about cold showers, no heating and enjoy a worry free student life!
Q) Do I need to pay a bond?
A) Yes a £200 dilapidations bond is required at least two weeks before your tenancy start date. This will be refunded at the end of your tenancy if none of the terms below are broken:
- Owe any rent under the terms of your Assured Shorthold Tenancy
- Fail to return all keys or fail to return them at the end of your tenancy
- Are responsible for damages to the property
- Have not cleaned the accommodation adequately
- Have left rubbish which will need to be removed
Q) Is their any other charges that I will incur?
A) An administration fee of £35 will be needed at least 4 weeks before the start of your tenancy. This will cover the costs of a guarantor check that every tenant will require before move in.
